Over the years I've sold 67 cards there averaging 4 to 5 cards/year. That first year I sold 9 cards for a total of $24.90, the most I've sold in a year was 10 cards in 2015 for $4.45. Last year I sold 6 cards for a total of $6.55, this year so far I've sold my yearly average of 4 cards for only $1.45 total. One was a flipper card I bought from the site to test flipping (along with another card that I still have listed there). It took a little less than 3 years and I only made about 12 cents or less off of it. </div><div><br /></div><div> I have bought a bunch of cards there as well. Interestingly enough I noticed that when I paid with a credit card vs paying with the site credit, the details of my order including the cards I bought are not included in my purchase/shipping history on the site. </div><div><br /></div><div>Now onto the regularly scheduled post content:</div>I recently shipped 364 cards to COMC to add to the 150 cards I have there for sale already. It is only the second time I've sent stuff there to sell. The estimated processing finish date is in May. This batch of cards covered the four major US sports Baseball, Basketball, Football and Hockey. It included some chrome/refractor type cards a few Hockey relics, maybe an auto card or two. Half of the cards were basketball or at least a third. I used two small card boxes and put them in a larger box that was about the size of a medium USPS flat rate box of old. There were also some Topps Baseball dupes that I had from the years 1978 to 1980 (50 cards maybe?). Some of the cards I sent were still on my collection page over at <a href="http://tcdb.com">TCDB</a>. I tried to delete them from there as I was preparing the lot of cards to send. Soon I will be adding more cards to my trade list over at TCDB. I also plan on semi-regularly submitting cards to COMC, not lots as large as this last one. I don't want to spend a fortune everytime I submit cards. I Just have to keep track of my credit balance over there to cover submission costs.<div><div><br /></div><div>I checked the population of some CCG cards over at COMC. Specifically from 1995 Cardz Hyborian Gates. Years ago I had bought a large starter deck/box and some packs because I liked the art work. Never played the game, but planned on collecting the card set. I don't play any of those card games. For ages I thought I would save a handful of them that I really liked the art work on and try to sell the rest as a lot via Ebay, in looking at what is already at COMC I noticed there were only 16 of the cards (from 4 sellers). I think that will be the next batch of cards to send to COMC. "Com Cee" as some Youtube vloggers call it. I just call it "checkoutmycards". Com-Cee sounds strange to me, like a communications network company. </div><div><br /></div><div>Over at TCDB my trade list there is my collection titled "Traders and/or For Sale".</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4-hNVyzSh8LAI58wva8hVVn0Lc1Ms1hyphenhyphenuOaEn80YLLeVWsf2Bb0garrouGk2lRcORoaM84ddb29vkfO7kMx5kwCQFFicJYScp1gQzZZSZZkaDb73IXKPpWgaptJyHlIQPO2v_CdWT9Nx8oZlLBk77Wc9vXj1QQkx20ncLgzr8xWPRukZvaigQNbu_Z2k/s570/comc_logo_1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="260" data-original-width="570" height="91" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4-hNVyzSh8LAI58wva8hVVn0Lc1Ms1hyphenhyphenuOaEn80YLLeVWsf2Bb0garrouGk2lRcORoaM84ddb29vkfO7kMx5kwCQFFicJYScp1gQzZZSZZkaDb73IXKPpWgaptJyHlIQPO2v_CdWT9Nx8oZlLBk77Wc9vXj1QQkx20ncLgzr8xWPRukZvaigQNbu_Z2k/w200-h91/comc_logo_1.jpg" width="200" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKWHPVvnsZ9HyjePHzX4bM7tMQ__U20PYJV_egYUsT2Rf4xRNcJpbmy0DAK1feU4K0XIak1HQEv0RV45wnK1z1O4zpbqyUL4_HpNokO1TTlSW3BvwMMG_lOBdeb-8Ja50oi-54CDB8bHRXq0Dm4K562QVFSoGQKyVxwxR0Qp-oHex2juB3cPZG59bhf8k/s225/TCDbLogo.gif" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: right;"><img border="0" data-original-height="90" data-original-width="225" height="80" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKWHPVvnsZ9HyjePHzX4bM7tMQ__U20PYJV_egYUsT2Rf4xRNcJpbmy0DAK1feU4K0XIak1HQEv0RV45wnK1z1O4zpbqyUL4_HpNokO1TTlSW3BvwMMG_lOBdeb-8Ja50oi-54CDB8bHRXq0Dm4K562QVFSoGQKyVxwxR0Qp-oHex2juB3cPZG59bhf8k/w200-h80/TCDbLogo.gif" width="200" /></a></div><a href="http://comc.com">Check Out My Cards (COMC)</a> <a href="http://tcdb.com">Trading Card DataBase (TCDB)</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://captkirk42.blogspot.com/p/project-purge-main-page.html">Project Purge</a><br /></div></div>CaptKirk42http://www.blogger.com/profile/16039278539984069944noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8866823832411888833.post-44179263905519361722024-02-17T12:00:00.033-05:002024-03-15T23:42:12.323-04:00Project Purge: Football (NFL) Team Lots<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>PROJECT PURGE:</b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Are You Ready For Some Football?</b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Football (NFL) Team Lots</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Published: 17 FEB 2024 Updated: 04 MAR 2024</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvZH47SDRIC9XsyeaG0qpJdZBRD3Kpzk-zmjHqisH-is1Trx_JupUNic2PId_H7WT3j-UEbQtQzCvAG48Rbm7qBcWJuZk72iSMKqNW0TLhyphenhyphen46WBahVs4gHUPrRvWTEjute3ndWGPpl71vzkVVrFMNEEAQr8qCWzVcyErE46MIgsH7Ytq_BLlsVPQA7R-o/s251/marxbrothersfootball.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="201" data-original-width="251" height="513" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvZH47SDRIC9XsyeaG0qpJdZBRD3Kpzk-zmjHqisH-is1Trx_JupUNic2PId_H7WT3j-UEbQtQzCvAG48Rbm7qBcWJuZk72iSMKqNW0TLhyphenhyphen46WBahVs4gHUPrRvWTEjute3ndWGPpl71vzkVVrFMNEEAQr8qCWzVcyErE46MIgsH7Ytq_BLlsVPQA7R-o/w640-h513/marxbrothersfootball.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>Marx Brothers from "Horse Feathers" football scene from internet.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></div>I am currently in the early stages of a huge collection purge or partial purge at least. I kicked things off on 16 Jan (2024) with a post for some Basketball Team Lots that I had prepared and put into a monster box. I put a post up at <a href="http://tcdb.com">TCDB</a>.com and then was going to post the offer up here on my blog near the end of the month, however, the response was so intense I rushed to make an updated blog post. Most of the claims came from the database no surprise there. I was a bit surprised that team sets of mostly 1990s base cards with doubles and multiples would be claimed so fast. A little more than a day and a half after the original posting time and ALL the lots were claimed. A TCDB member claimed the last 5 teams and some of the random type card lots. Needless to say his was the biggest package BOX I had to send out. About the size of a USPS med sized flat rate box.<div><br /></div><div>As I did with the Basketball lots I am only shipping to USA addresses. Sorry international postage is just too expensive and there is no practicle package tracking systems.</div><div> </div><div><div>It is time for some <b>Football</b>. Like the Basketball lots they are mostly base cards and some inserts. For the Basketball I didn't specify the cards were almost exclusively just common base (some of the teams have an insert or two but no "hits"), By saying most of the cards were 1990s (the "Junk Wax") years I was sort of implying the lots were all common base cards. I'm sorry if some people thought there might be more precious gems in the lots.</div><div><br /></div><div>I had been in a Football team traders group for a long time. To get trade fodder for the group I ripped open some packs and boxes of newer product and often purchased team lots from Ebay. These Football lots may contain some autos or relic cards. No guarantees though as most teams will have neither. The year ranges are also a little larger than the 1989 to 2007 range the Basketball lots had. Some of these team lots go up to 2019 or 2020, with many teams, but not all, including 2014-2017 cards.</div><div><br /></div><div>Not all teams in the league will be available at this time. I will try to ship things out in a timely manner but with the lessons learned from the Basketball Lots I will not try rushing everything all at once. Some people will have to wait for a little while. I also plan on shipping most lots in the small flat rate boxes. I had tried avoiding those but many of the basketball lot packages ended up costing over $10 to ship (I had only asked $6 for shipping costs) and small flat rate boxes ship for around $10.50 now.</div><div><br /></div><div>Some team lots will include an auto card or relic card but there is no guarantee of getting either. Most team lots will just contain common base cards with maybe some inserts, but no "hits".</div><div><br /></div><div>Most cards will be in EX condition, but not all. Spome cards may have creases and maybe some dings or ware on the corners or edges. Not as badly as many vintage cards but they still maybe noticable.</div><div><br /></div><div>Shipping for team lots will be $11 per lot. You can request more than one team but be advised that shipping might be delayed as I search for a larger box to ship. Teams with fewer cards I might be able to ship for cheaper but that isn't guaranteed, and if requesting multiple teams it will most likely be $11 to ship anyway.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>NFL FOOTBALL TEAM LOTS</b></div><div><span style="color: red;">49ers 79 cards 1990-2016 -</span> <b>CLAIMED</b></div><div>Bears 30 cards 1989-2016</div><div>Bengals 168 cards 1990-2019</div><div>Bills 81 cards 1991-2016</div><div>Broncos 17 cards 1991-2016 </div><div>Browns 197 cards 1990-2019</div><div><span style="color: red;">Buccaneers 408 cards 1990-2019 -</span> <b>CLAIMED</b></div><div><span style="color: red;">Cardinals 394 cards 1990-2019 -</span> <b>CLAIMED</b></div><div>Chargers 48 cards 1990-2019</div><div>Chiefs 67 cards 1995-2019</div><div>Colts 77 cards 1992-2019</div><div>Dolphins 242 cards 1990-2019</div><div><span style="color: red;">Eagles 251 cards 1990-2019 -</span> <b>CLAIMED</b></div><div>Falcons 227 cards 1990-2019</div><div>Giants 28 cards 1990-2016</div><div>Jaguars 297 cards 1995-2019</div><div>Jets 11 cards 1992-2016</div><div>Lions 53 cards 1990-2019</div><div>Packers 53 cards 1990-2019</div><div>Panthers 121 cards 1995-2019</div><div><span style="color: red;">Patriots 72 cards 1988-2019 -</span> <b>CLAIMED</b></div><div><span style="color: red;">Raiders 228 cards 1992-2019 -</span> <b>CLAIMED</b></div><div>Saints 15 cards 1991-2016</div><div><span style="color: red;">Seahawks 266 cards 1990-2016 -</span> <b>CLAIMED</b></div><div>Steelers 17 cards 1990-2019</div><div>Texans 17 cards 2003-2016</div><div>Titans 84 cards 2000-2019</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://captkirk42.blogspot.com/p/project-purge-main-page.html">Project Purge</a><br /></div></div>CaptKirk42http://www.blogger.com/profile/16039278539984069944noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8866823832411888833.post-81706975739319164832024-01-17T12:00:00.022-05:002024-01-31T15:03:50.946-05:00Purging Project: Basketball Team Lots ALL LOTS CLAIMED<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK70tlG0nM-dhdrsEKxbyWFbU-VcGLtTR9kDuo-BtcMC79oogi6rhL-1aeoY4GjHBaC3X1Pghg8YxsGb248Jn8yeOFITSHp1iFBZBmpBj7EpPHILf6xe9KqDCsCqrELUbLWqrmSSV0bVgJEOMExlDaxWh2BFwhyV30Qx8igqifbEH6BPAgg5NBaKrs5d0/s878/rognercollection03.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="638" data-original-width="878" height="233" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK70tlG0nM-dhdrsEKxbyWFbU-VcGLtTR9kDuo-BtcMC79oogi6rhL-1aeoY4GjHBaC3X1Pghg8YxsGb248Jn8yeOFITSHp1iFBZBmpBj7EpPHILf6xe9KqDCsCqrELUbLWqrmSSV0bVgJEOMExlDaxWh2BFwhyV30Qx8igqifbEH6BPAgg5NBaKrs5d0/s320/rognercollection03.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />UPDATE: 18Jan2024 4:50 PM<div><b>ALL TEAM LOTS have now been CLAIMED.</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><div>Thank you to all the TCDB members, and my blog readers who made claims for the lots. I am still waiting on a few addresses and shipping payments. A Big thank you to the TCDB member who grabbed the last 5 teams, the checklists and the remainder of the Classic lots.</div><div><br /><div>In a long needed effort to purge excess stuff from my card collection and related paraphernalia. I have thought of purging things before, but times have gotten more desperate. An apartment inspection woke me up to my cluttered housekeeping of over 15 years. I decluttered lots of things and made a small dent but didn't purge any trading cards. I made the panic mistake of purging a ton of comic books (without going through what I had), magazines and even some computer floppy discs that a few weeks later I realized some of the files on some of the discs might have been important for various aspects of my life and maybe some original writings. But OH Well Stuff is Stuff.<p></p><p>I will soon start prepping some of my Trading Cards for purging. Way back when I used to belong to some team trader groups I had a fantasy of having one monster box filled with trade fodder for each of the four major US sports (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey) even though I only belonged to team trader groups for Baseball and Football. For the football group I did have a monster box filled with trade fodder for each team in the league. As I would make the monthly trades I would replenish the teams that I was out of or low on. As part of the organization I used those worthless "card savers" as divider tabs. I use a simple file folder label w/ the team nickname written on it in sharpie and put that on the top of the card saver and load that team's cards behind the card saver divider. I now have a Basketball monster box set up and ready for the cards to find a new home. I currently have most of the current teams available. I plan on Purging by team lots.</p><p>For interested parties I can send you a nice team lot of NBA cards. All I ask for in return is $6 for first 2 teams. Please add $1 for each additional team after that.. Sorry I'm only sending to USA addresses. For Basketball I have team lots of about 90% of the teams in the league. I even have some draft cards of college guys who were "free agents" and never made the NBA, a handful maybe went pro overseas. Unfortunately for me most of the cards are from the decade of the 1990s. Yes like a ton of other card collectors I have a problem with super overstock of "Junk Wax" cards. Year ranges for team lots are from 1989 to around 2007 with most teams having cards from 1990 to 1996 or 97. Not many 1992 or 93. Some brands and years will only have 1 card, some might have a dozen or more. There <b>are duplicates</b> and in some cases multiples some 3 or more copies. Sorry I don't have time to go back over the lots to cherry pick for specific players, brands or years. Some lots may have a super star and some may not. These lots are excellent for trade fodder if you are in a team trading group. </p><p>I have even been toying with the idea of signing up to sell on Sportlots (been buying from there for years), but I am a bit leery about selling there. Mostly due to the high fees they charge especially if you have low sales. Plus I would have to make sure I had close to a 1,000+ cards ready to roll there to start seeing some results. I would also open my sellers account under a different user name. I'm already "captkirk" as a buyer, hmm but not "captkirk42". If I mess up as a seller there I don't want to be banned from buying there. If I were to have a huge selling day of buyers buying more cards than can fit in a PWE or small bubble mailer I don't have many small boxes or larger mailers on hand right now.. My <a href="https://captkirk42.blogspot.com/2023/10/happy-blogiversary-to-whatever-i-call.htmlhttps://captkirk42.blogspot.com/2023/10/happy-blogiversary-to-whatever-i-call.html">Blogiversary post</a> got over 400 views (414) in the first week. I olny have 116 followers so that is a lot of either new people or people who unofficially follow. Amazing!. Actually some of my numbers are helped a little bit by being on the blog roll at TCDB that tracks whenever I make a new post on my card blogs.</p><p>Now onto whatever this post is going to be about.</p><p>Lately more pressing things in life have forced my blogging to take a back seat. At times I'm not even sure if I'll get around to doing any blogging from now on out. I used to bust my butt trying to make sure I had a monthly post for all 3 of my blogs. Now I can't even guarantee that for myself let alone even one of the blogs. Life goes on and now maybe sometimes the blog.</p><p>Enough about that here is a card I got from a group box break. I wonder if it was a legit random card or if the host remembered that I collect cards of people with my name (and similar names) either way I like this card.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP3ZfUf5I7mFIMNyeSKw6RDr-qyQ8Ca_ZGwUC8bFGtWpLRBxNf4ufgCqYMKRJ_QDju9VfNVWTvBqQ2VOEPFUI0oW9j2doS3mWpP0tJc3HetgO7KyvbZV7QsFm9XFN16MMbRhHLgEOtHJ_lbj3GuGHphCPCuijnwnModOgxq2Mwu9IBQ6Q8dGXljxHgEmg/s536/danielvankirk2023toppsaandg221.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="536" data-original-width="386" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP3ZfUf5I7mFIMNyeSKw6RDr-qyQ8Ca_ZGwUC8bFGtWpLRBxNf4ufgCqYMKRJ_QDju9VfNVWTvBqQ2VOEPFUI0oW9j2doS3mWpP0tJc3HetgO7KyvbZV7QsFm9XFN16MMbRhHLgEOtHJ_lbj3GuGHphCPCuijnwnModOgxq2Mwu9IBQ6Q8dGXljxHgEmg/w460-h640/danielvankirk2023toppsaandg221.jpg" width="460" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">2023 Topps Allen & Ginter - 221 Daniel Van Kirk Comedian</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKdI0ObouPogMwqx0_QDaNRhQvr5RmrLlZnBSuxbB0BXQKj7uTROKAydHp4PUHBW3iG7zw5WBvpeyhOu3zfYaHBQ4oI1rVzieuLTv6ATFqRWHgbwl2urBymmztYdgS1iCcNP8eDfU_MKhBxWx1GfQdc55O9BuQqWGvFO6PBCNM2uS067Tq1dt0ndM1Wk8/s545/danielvankirk2023toppsaandg221back.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="545" data-original-width="392" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKdI0ObouPogMwqx0_QDaNRhQvr5RmrLlZnBSuxbB0BXQKj7uTROKAydHp4PUHBW3iG7zw5WBvpeyhOu3zfYaHBQ4oI1rVzieuLTv6ATFqRWHgbwl2urBymmztYdgS1iCcNP8eDfU_MKhBxWx1GfQdc55O9BuQqWGvFO6PBCNM2uS067Tq1dt0ndM1Wk8/w461-h640/danielvankirk2023toppsaandg221back.jpg" width="461" /></a></div><p>One thing I don't like about this card is the pattern of the shirt Daniel is wearing. I didn't notice it at first, it was only when I looked at the scanned image that I noticed how the shirt design looked like the scan was bad. This time it wasn't the scan image doing crazy things. It is probably time to get a new scanner I forget how many decades I've had my current Epson flatbed scanner. But it continues to work well enough and I hate having to get new electronic and computer equipment. </p>CaptKirk42http://www.blogger.com/profile/16039278539984069944noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8866823832411888833.post-18201083547632970452023-10-23T12:00:00.000-04:002023-10-23T12:00:00.142-04:00COTW: 1936 Carreras Film Stars Fred Astaire<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM4TVKimLnMIRCCQG049EIaAi70Q30hv1ibu2vs7a3tLBu8XTHGQafj0kIs0wa4jd6RIlIvlFvU6T0xEeURj0VDIbHxHQ1MIDN7KRth2wNcEB3RYMcvBLQUkK51tiwOD2odAsDg13-_9JM1IXIdBxygyycIeQ-L4880VnfSlovXo7ldCuSj_iNgvgcfNA/s728/cardofwheneverlogo.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="354" data-original-width="728" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM4TVKimLnMIRCCQG049EIaAi70Q30hv1ibu2vs7a3tLBu8XTHGQafj0kIs0wa4jd6RIlIvlFvU6T0xEeURj0VDIbHxHQ1MIDN7KRth2wNcEB3RYMcvBLQUkK51tiwOD2odAsDg13-_9JM1IXIdBxygyycIeQ-L4880VnfSlovXo7ldCuSj_iNgvgcfNA/w640-h312/cardofwheneverlogo.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />It is time for another <i>"Card of the Whenever"</i> this episode we soft shoe our way back almost 90 years to 1936. This post doesn't show any cards because it talks about a card magazine. So...<p></p><p>October 2023 marks the 45th Anniversary of the non-sport trading card magazine <a href="http://www.thewrappermagazine.com/">The Wrapper</a> and their current issue #350. The magazine is published quarterly and still has the feel of the late 1970s, early 1980s when it first started. With the exception of the outer covers that usually have 3 colors the magazine is black & white. Very simple format and low budget as it has been self published by the same guy Les Davis.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip0xVnMeaREkCvE73-kLGHugUSwAFTK5WN6cKFJZcDflg38A7I7qAjf2tURHf6qmjnBPOuCrLkvU6_cKaAnFOSQh5eA5p16LlfNb2GyCst5x4BRMEEI3vG06ujqMLsWsI8ue7wpRso3s1P8yoYaIWMJh4DDdCDYK7SpbPf84lz7Xy6oVWO5VUZRWNVpGc/s639/thewrapper350page2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="639" data-original-width="437" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip0xVnMeaREkCvE73-kLGHugUSwAFTK5WN6cKFJZcDflg38A7I7qAjf2tURHf6qmjnBPOuCrLkvU6_cKaAnFOSQh5eA5p16LlfNb2GyCst5x4BRMEEI3vG06ujqMLsWsI8ue7wpRso3s1P8yoYaIWMJh4DDdCDYK7SpbPf84lz7Xy6oVWO5VUZRWNVpGc/w438-h640/thewrapper350page2.jpg" width="438" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Each issue starts with a feedback section/news section "Non Sport Talk". Then there are three or four (I haven't actually counted for each issue) nice articles on some non-sport set from the past usually vintage and often sort of rare and sometimes all but forgotten.<div><br /></div><div>Each issue also has a giveaway/contest called "Wrapper Drawing" that I usually forget about a couple of days after skimming through the issue. I forget exactly when I got them. Any way this group of cards is from a 1966 set of "Famous People" by Lyons Maid an ice cream maker from England. There are 48 cards in the set I got these 5:<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcps17WvtjkjD1Q4j8PnUWH7UDDxLyNcBDmEwLsN877wEJ4LGtoctC4SVe2zc3wj5po4t3sT6kmtAt4OKu4RLGvnVYWopDlQ5mspTDDKRlkgH5DXQz53PTVF7mXG7XMGKFMw9-eKWY5lTUeGLo-A3KGLEYLyqdIRG18nKWO2K8O16iq5hbbD9L27IwTcE/s1144/famouspeoplebacks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; This is always fun at the end of the month.</p><p>Hey I have a wacky idea. I'll revisit an old feature I just remembered I used to do on this blog... <i>"The Card of the Whenever"</i>. Hmm lets see where did I put that logo?</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi018ZfgY6Odo3lG2qC8Ujs7kRyrzM-lovzvLp5b-kYC4jQTYJ8KSg4NjYmWJt1MY8r63mQgu3IE7q267UnbzLCclIkvUvUCZfB_E-Wn2ImFt9_JGRmI49L1bUpEKe5PmZkcvD5jEjf9kAYk7LH9J7cUuAl2YSY03XLN4k986MuRLnFsxWhvNGXcPEyJMQ/s728/cardofwheneverlogo.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="354" data-original-width="728" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi018ZfgY6Odo3lG2qC8Ujs7kRyrzM-lovzvLp5b-kYC4jQTYJ8KSg4NjYmWJt1MY8r63mQgu3IE7q267UnbzLCclIkvUvUCZfB_E-Wn2ImFt9_JGRmI49L1bUpEKe5PmZkcvD5jEjf9kAYk7LH9J7cUuAl2YSY03XLN4k986MuRLnFsxWhvNGXcPEyJMQ/w640-h312/cardofwheneverlogo.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>This card is appropriate in many ways a childhood hero on a card from my childhood showing the hero in his childhood. This card came from sportlots from a quarter auction. It is an Upper Deck Tim Horton's card. Now I don't normally pursue Tim Horton cards mostly because they are Canadian imports and hard to find here in the US. I have made several posts about my self-regulating posting quota of at least one post per month, per blog.</p><p>Long story short this post might end up being one of my worst posts with very very minimal views. Don't say I didn't warn you.</p><p>I'm not sure but I might have to sometime soon think about reevaluating my collection and draw a line somewhere about acquiring "new" cards. There are just too many things currently in the industry that take away the fun of collecting. One of the many things is the endless and pointless parallels. It seems every card now needs to have at least a dozen parallels. Now sometimes it is fun to collect the variants and go for the "rainbow" but usually it is just another gimmick to fall for. Cheap in the sense that it is low quality or literally no brainer as in it takes no brain to come up with the idea. However it is expensive in the fact that it adds to the overall cost of the cards and sometimes adds in the materials used to make the cards.</p><p>Well that didn't solve a damned thing.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhts0k4RUhUG8ZSrsOIlyd1QsIL_KjLRpPdP6icyhnYfm6G0psel8judcc_eHMQ9dShA0GA0X9CICXBg_VdP-4Z9SLc1sM0N0ugtxsaAzoEG4l9SW-ShyJk8OI_l69-pUJxqibAfV8aCIwe_nDmcj5bJAbw2jVfHQDAkuVbp3nFfoNiCvvOB0rD6SM22rE/s1587/tcdbjune2023tradetile.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1587" data-original-width="1161" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhts0k4RUhUG8ZSrsOIlyd1QsIL_KjLRpPdP6icyhnYfm6G0psel8judcc_eHMQ9dShA0GA0X9CICXBg_VdP-4Z9SLc1sM0N0ugtxsaAzoEG4l9SW-ShyJk8OI_l69-pUJxqibAfV8aCIwe_nDmcj5bJAbw2jVfHQDAkuVbp3nFfoNiCvvOB0rD6SM22rE/w468-h640/tcdbjune2023tradetile.jpg" width="468" /></a></div><br />Alright so I had a recent trade with a member over at TCDB from Canada. The trader supposedly originally sent the cards within a day or two of the trade being confirmed, but a week or two later he sent me a message saying the cards had been returned because the stamp fell off, so he resent. I didn't complain because Canada. About a week or two later the cards finally arrive. Sent of course via PWE with a stamp. There was thin cardboard from a "Coors Light" box nicely painter's taped around a 3 pocket section from a 9 card sheet. I noticed the stamp cancellation was 3 days before arrival, so his sending time honesty wasn't entirely accurate. Again no complaints everything was safe. I sent five Topps 1978 Battlestar Galactica cards, the last of my original dupes from that set for 6 hockey cards (I might already have some of the Caps cards but didn't have them marked in my collection online) and a 1978 Topps Superman: The Movie card I needed for my set (a card I thought I had, maybe I have the sticker with the same photo). My ship out day was a week after the trade confirmation because the trade was confirmed on a Saturday afternoon.<p></p><p>Here are the cards I got.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUVavFgdIp8owinr_wGr4tcDlrz4dPGZ-fTPSEJiDztnHwdehkGu9GjWcTN5hWD5Tbye12s7VG9MAV7zfO9dpn9ATpWCbwk71TIuZiAoOUa1JA7qY-n5bl44QQK5rkz1IvKCC5vodO9PKVuCDknIL_sj9xPCIjr6Yu06xPSel7JdgYCt2Lvkb-um0Qfxs/s551/kenhodge199192upperdeck41.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; Often they dive deep into vintage Non-Sport sets as well as the occasional newer set, some super popular and well known and others that are rare and very obscure. I forget how many years I have been subscribed. Anyway when it comes to renewing your subscription along with the notice that your subscription is about to expire they will often send a few freebies to sweeten the deal. Here are three cards I received in my subscription renewal envelope; 1 I am pretty sure I already have, 1 I know I already have and the 3rd is "new" to me:</p><p style="text-align: center;"><b></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKNkNQtoZsMmkNrorB77cig6KhP9nRXy5wEiiRyMJDkfSchawo4UalBP728jO49XSV3LZQBHoRr4fu8l4nZHp1apXJfObrca4KTXM4w3wozt0GkEQMVclbYe0mYz0QIehSq9S1bA9rOMJA9R4huD0Nfts5x4Vg_ilOa2cMtC2nTpGUr5WEtvlCDuW8/s597/charmedconnections2004inkworkspromocc3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="427" data-original-width="597" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKNkNQtoZsMmkNrorB77cig6KhP9nRXy5wEiiRyMJDkfSchawo4UalBP728jO49XSV3LZQBHoRr4fu8l4nZHp1apXJfObrca4KTXM4w3wozt0GkEQMVclbYe0mYz0QIehSq9S1bA9rOMJA9R4huD0Nfts5x4Vg_ilOa2cMtC2nTpGUr5WEtvlCDuW8/w400-h286/charmedconnections2004inkworkspromocc3.jpg" width="400" /></a></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>2004 Inkworks Charmed Connections Promo CC-3</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHzcYm8cwXe5dF0_JukQtP9Fn-V8jQvHM2ubcq7BRI87Y1AE11quuzJhJ_QO5lKJKNafxSI2GIf6dbYgmVLamZtSVX72wKxUttzVPN-MNKKdFQPhyFpVA1gLz46k64DoBNvBGc6jxrvAAHxaDTlXiRhZqm_zipYgis7xm9hx64nsIz6918slCepkSL/s604/charmedconnections2004inkworkspromocc3back.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="604" data-original-width="435" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHzcYm8cwXe5dF0_JukQtP9Fn-V8jQvHM2ubcq7BRI87Y1AE11quuzJhJ_QO5lKJKNafxSI2GIf6dbYgmVLamZtSVX72wKxUttzVPN-MNKKdFQPhyFpVA1gLz46k64DoBNvBGc6jxrvAAHxaDTlXiRhZqm_zipYgis7xm9hx64nsIz6918slCepkSL/w288-h400/charmedconnections2004inkworkspromocc3back.jpg" width="288" /></a></b></div><p></p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKNk0esmd03IN3fq4Uyg1REFtSX59icpPKAiiKROdB3yC91TtrbZvjJl6V4pac0K7G52mQw5U83T5waQTQ91Hme9uMl-wyL-KQMRzHDGV5G4gg8uVG_GpGL2FxN3LAd6FqNBNIwVVPOVI3yVUtn5uAs3FIBqJxLnEo7FpjOIWHNNHdYSWjTMJYvkoI/s608/sgtpeppers1978donruss58.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="436" data-original-width="608" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKNk0esmd03IN3fq4Uyg1REFtSX59icpPKAiiKROdB3yC91TtrbZvjJl6V4pac0K7G52mQw5U83T5waQTQ91Hme9uMl-wyL-KQMRzHDGV5G4gg8uVG_GpGL2FxN3LAd6FqNBNIwVVPOVI3yVUtn5uAs3FIBqJxLnEo7FpjOIWHNNHdYSWjTMJYvkoI/w400-h286/sgtpeppers1978donruss58.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><b><div style="text-align: center;"><b>1978 Donruss Sgt. I first noticed, oh geez I think maybe the weekend of April 8th? That card site has had it's ups and downs many times over the years. In part due to the original owner skipping out years ago. He would occasionally pop up on the site and had some kind of arrangement for website renewals to avoid having the site go down every year, five years, or however long website registrations last. I forget what the time periods are as it has been over 10 or 12 years since I last attempted to maintain my own website. I'm pretty sure that TCC was the first trading card forum that I got involved with. I have always liked the way people there were friendly and most were in the hobby for the hobby not to just flip cards and make money as most people seem to want to do now. Some of my Facebook friends I met through TCC and I still keep loose contact with them even though many of them no longer use TCC and in some cases no longer collect trading cards. TCC has never been super high-tech but it used to be an old stand by. For several years I had used the "blog" area of the website for my trading card transactions and mail days before I started up my blogging and continued to blog there even though I eventually was the only one updating their blog there. I stopped detailing my mail days and trades and trading card stuff some years back about 10+ At one time I had started to copy my blog entries there onto a simple word document but stopped doing that after only having copied the first couple of years worth of stuff. I am not sure how many years worth of posts were left to copy over. I also used to make posts about purchases and favorite cards and whatever in the regular forums. I even had a "my collection" thread at one time. That reminds me I often had to repost images that had been on photobucket but I transferred to some other online photo gallery when photobucket started going corporate and having it's own problems and got greedy requiring paid subscriptions for access to actually do anything with the site. <p></p><p><b>UPDATE</b>: 20 April. Hey TCC is Back UP! I looked at the blog section over there. My last TCC blog was in early 2019 and the last blog by anyone was near the end of 2019. When I clicked on the link to add an entry I got a "this page isn't working" error. I probably should try to finish that "transfer" of my blogging from there to my word documents. I probably should have started backing up my archives here at blogspot back when I first signed up to blog here. OH Well.</p><p><b>ADDITIONAL UPDATE</b>: 26 April 2023. BIG SIGH! Site is down again. not sure why... Still down as of time of this post's publishing on 30 April 2023.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjBz9n9mHH2qOSXHE4odteOlATjDapJuho_uj1k8kORe9jlG4jBSF5JMUPdkiawQIzVppsltCZ9k4zklAj4lUXjBTybMfmw5YClnPGO2QTNCaNnvcwqmvK3PLTxYSYVTXN2Bgap4xnkKrpUXnPUUysOnz-PXKXvhCBB34y4VEkFkq5UeiIQAAbn_6f/s570/comc_logo_1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="260" data-original-width="570" height="146" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjBz9n9mHH2qOSXHE4odteOlATjDapJuho_uj1k8kORe9jlG4jBSF5JMUPdkiawQIzVppsltCZ9k4zklAj4lUXjBTybMfmw5YClnPGO2QTNCaNnvcwqmvK3PLTxYSYVTXN2Bgap4xnkKrpUXnPUUysOnz-PXKXvhCBB34y4VEkFkq5UeiIQAAbn_6f/s320/comc_logo_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />In other card news over at <a href="http://comc.com">COMC</a> I have sold 4 cards this year, 2 in Mar and 2 in Apr. Granted 2 were under a buck one just a little over a buck and one a little over 2.5 bucks. The last few years I have sold 1 maybe 2 cards a year over there if that. Been years upon years since I submitted any cards to sell over there. I currently have 156 cards in my inventory over there.<p></p><p>OK so what cards to show?</p><p>This duo of cards I have had in a mixed box that has some cards that have been in my "to be blogged about" pile for years. Anyway, they are two copies of the same card. The difference is one of them missed the foil printing phase.</p><p>The Card 1993 Topps Stadium Club Baseball 515 <a href="https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/howarth01.shtml">Thomas Howard</a> Cleveland Indians.</p><p>First the card as it should be:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; I thought I already had this card but it wasn't in my TCDB collection. It is now.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipsrWhAFqPCVZROx-p0EieF9wmST1H7KMvNdM-OD1ZpEexAFegFec5WpML490ZK7no4CAto6858tLDPz9oYBScnDQKYrCgGtJnKouS0O1H1ZF73nLLaiJUJ9p0GuStctwNXIEc-ZrSL6LNLLoGs-98TGE0B6ryFuc1qIxYX9oWlL2QCph4X-tWWVVP/s617/terrybradshaw1974topps470.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="617" data-original-width="435" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipsrWhAFqPCVZROx-p0EieF9wmST1H7KMvNdM-OD1ZpEexAFegFec5WpML490ZK7no4CAto6858tLDPz9oYBScnDQKYrCgGtJnKouS0O1H1ZF73nLLaiJUJ9p0GuStctwNXIEc-ZrSL6LNLLoGs-98TGE0B6ryFuc1qIxYX9oWlL2QCph4X-tWWVVP/w283-h400/terrybradshaw1974topps470.jpg" width="283" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">1974 Topps Football 470 Terry Bradshaw Pittsburgh Steelers miscut<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb3FOMYN_ihYXssSRk5DdTI4pAhnV6D4brnXSQZEww9hGzcwGE1Xzyuk44-0SqfFSE33sp10nc8eAs_7THPXKTxDDFe723lOJLOw6y3SjWbP1Q2fMHngA5aPjxFT16BEoWDwNFB0sNAIE8ESBi4dw03Y8qWOQ0p6eSvzjSmIY0O2xgq8qTwyd5Hj1x/s615/terrybradshaw1974topps470back.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="615" data-original-width="445" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb3FOMYN_ihYXssSRk5DdTI4pAhnV6D4brnXSQZEww9hGzcwGE1Xzyuk44-0SqfFSE33sp10nc8eAs_7THPXKTxDDFe723lOJLOw6y3SjWbP1Q2fMHngA5aPjxFT16BEoWDwNFB0sNAIE8ESBi4dw03Y8qWOQ0p6eSvzjSmIY0O2xgq8qTwyd5Hj1x/w290-h400/terrybradshaw1974topps470back.jpg" width="290" /></a></div><br /></div><p><br /></p>CaptKirk42http://www.blogger.com/profile/16039278539984069944noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8866823832411888833.post-23937525862780800912023-02-28T12:00:00.215-05:002023-02-28T14:24:08.240-05:00Sketching A Post Out<p> It has been a long time since I've made a post about sketch cards. It has been a long time since I have looked for or even bought any. The cards in this post I have been meaning to post about for some time since I have had them for 10-11 years. My criteria for sketch cards is generally first their appearance and that includes the quality of the art work and the price. Just like regular cards I don't like the super high prices that many ask for any card let alone a semi rare art card. Back when I used to hunt for sketch cards a decade ago. Many of them were just that a SKETCH card, usually one of a kind and often they were in just pencil or uncolored black pen & ink. Then some of the artists colored in their work and often they would make print copies to sell so they could keep their original art. I don't mind photocopies if they look OK and if I know upon purchase that they are prints. Anyway that is more than enough talk, time to show the cards. Oh one of these cards I have another sketch card by the same artist whose full name I do not know. In a <a href="https://captkirk42.blogspot.com/2012/02/holy-hawaii-batman.html">previous post</a> I mentioned another card by the artist named "Phil" whom I can't make out the last name.</p><p>So let me start by showing this second card by the artist "Phil" this is one of two sketch cards I have with Pauley Perrette as her character Abby Sciuto. It is also one of two sketch cards I'm showing that have a gold sticker "sealing" the card as a "Limited Edition Collectors Series". Back in the day I loved getting them for the gold seal to show they were sort of authentic, but if you really think about it, it doesn't make them any more special, as often the seal can be worn or damaged negating the whole specialness of them.</p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvMAs73ExRXyled0BJ-5LaxJmScT1O2hSQBv7hrACykZmgTX27B9mglj9SEVXRa_2dhYMqSLx047rjYR-J_POz1HYYdsJHO9ku3p49NyjZW4e3B3RpxOWVE5Pbt-EB6ely5P6PvvnefKa-Ge4DPvkK-lyMs6abv3fwoDgcqPwDaUM8oPGMFV4mRErA/s614/abbysketchphil.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="614" data-original-width="458" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvMAs73ExRXyled0BJ-5LaxJmScT1O2hSQBv7hrACykZmgTX27B9mglj9SEVXRa_2dhYMqSLx047rjYR-J_POz1HYYdsJHO9ku3p49NyjZW4e3B3RpxOWVE5Pbt-EB6ely5P6PvvnefKa-Ge4DPvkK-lyMs6abv3fwoDgcqPwDaUM8oPGMFV4mRErA/w299-h400/abbysketchphil.jpg" width="299" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">2012? Well it had been ages since I had filled out any such request and honestly didn't think I had any outstanding. Guess I was wrong. On 14 Nov 2022 I got a small card package. I hadn't been expecting anything except maybe my Nationals lot from the latest group break I was involved in that had just done its November break, that package also arrived that day (there is a 99% chance it will be the Nov post for my <a href="https://curlywcards.blogspot.com/">Curly W cards</a> blog). I saw the return address was from "customer service" from Panini America. I'm not sure what product I had been on the waiting list for, anyway the note in the package said the card included was a replacement of equal or higher value.</span></div><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi70BO06EpQovZJaSXiL5kDz1c8zR7Qm1MZy_efW1gq_Qr12_cBt942cHcuX1EPXoNZi25i1d1krwGFe8YR4hxivV31uTm7xOxmeo6LLISHPWOgFEg1YMKAmKcfO5ysaXeFJF9aIsKkADdB_Iz5HD83CrIS18hWHPRT7v0qjEZWxxehEiYG4ulYJyue/s1510/redemptionnote.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="672" data-original-width="1510" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi70BO06EpQovZJaSXiL5kDz1c8zR7Qm1MZy_efW1gq_Qr12_cBt942cHcuX1EPXoNZi25i1d1krwGFe8YR4hxivV31uTm7xOxmeo6LLISHPWOgFEg1YMKAmKcfO5ysaXeFJF9aIsKkADdB_Iz5HD83CrIS18hWHPRT7v0qjEZWxxehEiYG4ulYJyue/w640-h285/redemptionnote.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Here is the replacement redemption card:<span style="text-align: center;"> </span><p></p><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP5moOhSb5wr5pxMVxwOEod-o3o5qwcY9q-VbS_eEFeFDy4E9TSC925D1GJoBNqKEkTQFMGUfOJzb6rNeI2P8EfaIx46_xITumZ5d3yA8t-6OU7E7LoAOEdZZbNLl6nIEnzI009qBca3E1wMSLq7hiWZkqWxSrhPo9NnqV7Xzr8JLonjleWRom1Dbc/s721/grantriller202021psagri.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="721" data-original-width="543" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP5moOhSb5wr5pxMVxwOEod-o3o5qwcY9q-VbS_eEFeFDy4E9TSC925D1GJoBNqKEkTQFMGUfOJzb6rNeI2P8EfaIx46_xITumZ5d3yA8t-6OU7E7LoAOEdZZbNLl6nIEnzI009qBca3E1wMSLq7hiWZkqWxSrhPo9NnqV7Xzr8JLonjleWRom1Dbc/w301-h400/grantriller202021psagri.jpg" width="301" /></a></div>2020-21 Panini Noir Basketball Rookie Private signings Association Version</div><div style="text-align: center;">PSA-GRI <a href="https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/rillegr01.html">Grant Riller</a> Charlotte Hornets Autograph on-card blue sharpie<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQO-FyZbyoGGUechGW9gA0qn6_PG0tJYtVVIG38EwHYWGl_y3r8A4inMiwPVh2uWAsA8xhjHeUgXCr7VAXTD-GWhur47S7Z-jewnssAWkoATHxGViAEVZIluk0Rax2FL2d8rwTs-1y450O3wUf3qgXgnvxT44L9lBYeoU8e7hIc7RgOyYxJ5WVzQX4/s716/grantriller202021psagriback.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="716" data-original-width="533" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQO-FyZbyoGGUechGW9gA0qn6_PG0tJYtVVIG38EwHYWGl_y3r8A4inMiwPVh2uWAsA8xhjHeUgXCr7VAXTD-GWhur47S7Z-jewnssAWkoATHxGViAEVZIluk0Rax2FL2d8rwTs-1y450O3wUf3qgXgnvxT44L9lBYeoU8e7hIc7RgOyYxJ5WVzQX4/w298-h400/grantriller202021psagriback.jpg" width="298" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">If interested in this card please send an email offer to my yahoo address.</div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br />CaptKirk42http://www.blogger.com/profile/16039278539984069944noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8866823832411888833.post-87069699766326266692022-10-31T12:00:00.045-04:002022-10-31T13:52:31.997-04:00Trade Pile 001: Card 5 A Chrome Tampa Bay Ray<div style="text-align: center;"><b style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Trade Pile 001:</span></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>Card 5: A 2015 Topps Chrome Ray</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>31 Oct 2022<br /></b><b><span style="font-size: x-large;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSgF95AlyHTR3WrOzJ6LFojUv7cDci0_iQ6o4mKBLGdzBFf-hjdhOlVSJmgiED8GxyJzjkyNIi3WoUzrmEn_qGKAIK3GHlKmcMsXQFg4CccZEwm579Qr91hiNie_TGaUsBzQ-lbZ7VKvUSid1NRr1KM3INJQU3nkGpKQ3Lrf9F97hZquCoYvIc0Mw1/s800/Picture%209.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSgF95AlyHTR3WrOzJ6LFojUv7cDci0_iQ6o4mKBLGdzBFf-hjdhOlVSJmgiED8GxyJzjkyNIi3WoUzrmEn_qGKAIK3GHlKmcMsXQFg4CccZEwm579Qr91hiNie_TGaUsBzQ-lbZ7VKvUSid1NRr1KM3INJQU3nkGpKQ3Lrf9F97hZquCoYvIc0Mw1/w400-h300/Picture%209.jpg" width="400" /></a></div></span></b></div><div><br /></div><div>Adding another card to the pile it is now a poker hand. As a member each month they will send you a box of unopened packs of cards. They have the 4 major US sports: Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Hockey plus Soccer and Gaming. They offer a selection of 3 membership tiers: Silver 5 packs $24.95, Gold 10 packs $42.95, Platinum 15 packs $60.95. You can choose which individual sport flavor you want or a 3 sport Baseball, Football & Basketball box. Plus you choose from Vintage (1999 on back to probably early 1980s. I think they have stated 1983 is as far back as they have gone), or Modern (2000 and up), or a mix of the two.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Now here is where things get interesting. Almost 3 years ago, back in Sept 2019 I received a box from The CCC. I did not order the box it was sent to me as a sort of promo for bloggers I think. I don't recall if I received an email or responded to some promo they were having but anyway I currently have a box sitting unopened still in it's yellow/orange mailing package. I had planed on doing a spectacular blog post about opening it that was to include a video busting the box and the subsequent packs inside, including scans of everything during the process. I nixed that idea due to all the time it would take to work on it. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Flashforward to recent months as I have seen more and more UTube videos and blog posts of others busting these boxes and repack products like <a href="https://www.repackedwax.com/">Repacked Wax</a> and well I got the bug for it. So I set up a Platinum Vintage Baseball sub and a Gold Vintage Football sub. This way it is less likely I will get brands that I don't particularly like such as Chrome, & Draft editions. There may be a few as those trends started in the 1990s. Anyway for brands I don't like I will put those packs aside as traders or toss them up on Ebay maybe.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">My first two subscription boxes arrived Friday 10 June. So now I am a Collectible Card Club Card Carrying Member even though I probably shouldn't spend so much on it..</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">I was going to include one of my first CCC Box Breaks for this post but I haven't started opening them yet. I have 3 to do sometime soon.</div>CaptKirk42http://www.blogger.com/profile/16039278539984069944noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8866823832411888833.post-58264753343428381762022-06-26T12:00:00.009-04:002022-06-26T12:00:00.171-04:00Trade Pile 001: Attempt at a New Feature<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-size: x-large;">Trade Pile 001</span></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>26 Jun 2022<br /></b><b><span style="font-size: x-large;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSgF95AlyHTR3WrOzJ6LFojUv7cDci0_iQ6o4mKBLGdzBFf-hjdhOlVSJmgiED8GxyJzjkyNIi3WoUzrmEn_qGKAIK3GHlKmcMsXQFg4CccZEwm579Qr91hiNie_TGaUsBzQ-lbZ7VKvUSid1NRr1KM3INJQU3nkGpKQ3Lrf9F97hZquCoYvIc0Mw1/s800/Picture%209.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSgF95AlyHTR3WrOzJ6LFojUv7cDci0_iQ6o4mKBLGdzBFf-hjdhOlVSJmgiED8GxyJzjkyNIi3WoUzrmEn_qGKAIK3GHlKmcMsXQFg4CccZEwm579Qr91hiNie_TGaUsBzQ-lbZ7VKvUSid1NRr1KM3INJQU3nkGpKQ3Lrf9F97hZquCoYvIc0Mw1/w400-h300/Picture%209.jpg" width="400" /></a></div></span></b></div><br /> So here is a feature that I have been thinking of doing for a bit, but haven't committed to since it requires somewhat frequent updating. I ordered about 26 cards for the set from 4 different sellers with the cost per card ranging from 34ยข to $6.99 this round. Unbeknownst to me one of them was a duplicate (The Phillies Rookie Stars my previous one is in better condition as this one has writing on the back). Conditions ranging from good to excellent. Some of the cards I went for the cheap "good" condition to save some money and for a few of them paid the price as you will see. Those cards I will need to upgrade at some time, a few of them I can tolerate. ARGH and ACK. Usually I do pretty well with unseen poorer conditioned cards there. Then again I don't often lower to the "good" level. I probably will not from here on.</p><center><b><span style="font-size: large;">STRIVE FOR '65 STATUS:</span></b></center>
