To Enter all you gotta do is:
1) Comment: Yep that is it just post a comment to this contest post and you will be entered for the random drawing.
2) Follow My Blog: If you already follow this blog, then great you don't need to do anything else (unless you are the random winner) If you don't already follow my blog please do so you never know when I'll commit another "Random Act of Cardness" (I won't always announce RACs on the blog).
Extra Added Fun:
Feel free to spread the word about this contest and to pimp it.
Enter Now while you are reading this because anytime between now and the end of March I will randomly (via random.org) pick a winner from the list of folks who have entered . I will then post the winner and request their mailing address and card collecting info (team/players/set whatever their collecting habits are). I will try to send some fun stuff from what the winner collects, plus some random stuff of course.
Now here is the hard part, I am going to try to track the pay it forward ripples from this random act of cardness for the entire year. I will include with the package a special marked decoy card (blank, dummy, teaser, sucker) aka: "The RAC Card".
I request that the winner will then at some random yet relatively short period of time randomly send my decoy card to someone else to "pay it forward". Perhaps they will slip it in with a random trade or in their own contest. Then hopefully that next person who receives the RAC card will contact me so I can track where the RAC card has been, and then they will pay it forward.
This might not work, but lets try it.
As always if you want to trade (or just gift me) my teams are Nationals/Senators, Orioles, Redskins, Rams, Capitals and Pre-1980 vintage, OK and Bullets/Wizards. I am mostly concentrating on the baseball right now. You can check my Zistle to see what I already have cataloged in and don't need, plus my master want list has some of what I am still looking for. I am trying to get all my lists updated, but I think there is still a very long way to go. I also do some Non-Sports, mostly sci-fi and the pre 1,000s of inserts and sub-sets (Pre-late 1990s) years. The Non-Sport is my most picky I think. I tend to be more whatever attracts my eye with Non-Sport.
well, this is a comment.
ReplyDeleteactually, i've been meaning to see if you want to trade dodgers for the stack of nationals i've accumulated.
let me know.

Jim,
DeleteSounds good, I'll check this weekend to see what Dodgers I've got available. How big a stack we talking? A jam packed flat rate box or a slightly overflowing standard bubble mailer?
Count me in, dude! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteVery cool idea Kirk. Hopefully that RAC card will make its way to me sometime. If it does, it'll definitely get paid forward.
ReplyDeleteI'm in! Already following.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Great Idea , Count me in as well..
ReplyDeleteBeen involved in a few of these random type trade (non-trade) deals and they are a lot of fun...
ReplyDeletecount me in...
Cool stuff; already following, and a question: for your 2011 and 2010 Opening Day Wantlists, are you looking for Nats/O's exclusively, or any card from those sets? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteRe: Opening Day Wantlists. I am looking for any not just Nats/Os exclusive. Since the sets are only 220 cards they are not that impossible to chase.
DeleteIn that case, I may have some cards to send your way. Could you send me an e-mail? Address in blogger profile.
DeleteI would have sworn I was already following this blog, CK. I have a link in my browser. Oh well. I'm joining right now.
ReplyDeleteThat has happened to me with some of the blogs I follow and read. I've read them for so long I just assumed I had officially joined "the following" when I first started reading them.
DeleteWoW! I got your card! Will send you an e-mail ;)
ReplyDeletethese random act are too cool! I've hit a few bloggers with random packages and they been well received.
